Lip Sync Videos

During the 2nd Iron Range Lip Sync Battle on October 29, 2015, the full videos from the local high school teams – which right now includes Hibbing football, Hibbing-Chisholm soccer, and Greenway-Nashwauk-Keewatin football – were premiered. We have some additional edits we will be making to these videos, to include but not limited to, adding script and title pages. We are thrilled about the excitement to post them today, but know that additional edits are coming to these clips.

Advocates for Family Peace Executive Director Melissa Scaia was inspired after seeing a similar video from the Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City, MN football team’s lip sync video. Coach David Blom led the effort there and deserves the credit for originating the idea of how to say “It’s On Us” by having young men lip sync a video that enhances respect for women and girls.

The Hibbing Bluejacket soccer players helped Advocates for Family Peace film a public service announcement at the high school similar to the football team one. Then the Greenway-Nashwauk/Keewatin football team asked to do one and include their cheerleaders as a way to show respect for women and girls.

Radio USA professionally cut the music for the video, videographer Dan Connelly agreed to shoot it and the student athletes practiced dancing and lip syncing.

Advocates for Family Peace is interested in doing a public service message video for additional teams. We encourage coaches to contact us to set it up. We are working with local foundations who love this idea and are willing to pay for the professional work done with the videos.
