Purpose of MDVP

The Itasca Men's Domestic Violence Program (MDVP) is a 20 week educational program designed to help men learn and apply positive behaviors with their partner and children.  Two facilitators, a man and a woman, lead each group.

How to Participate

Men are either court ordered or volunteer to attend the program.  Men can be court ordered through a civil order for protection (OFP) or through a criminal conviction.

To enter the program, men must contact the MDVP coordinator and arrange for an intake interview.

Fees

The two hour sessions are once a week at a cost of $20 per session.  There is a sliding fee scale available if the program participant is not working full-time.

Schedule

The program has groups to accommodate working people.  Groups meet at the following places and times:

Deer River  
Wednesday evenings 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. - Itasca Resource Center

Grand  Rapids 
Thursday mornings 10:00 - 12:00 p.m. - St. Joseph's Catholic Church

Thursday evenings 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. - St. Joseph's Catholic Church
